Truthfulness and Honesty: What Do Religions Say?

1. "O you who believe! Fear God, and be with those who are true (in word and deeds)." (Quran 9:119, Islamism)

2. "Austerity of speech consists in speaking truthfully and beneficially and in avoiding speech that offends. One should also recite the Vedas regularly." (Bhagavad Gita as it is, Chapter: 17; Text:15, Hinduism)

3. "And what is right speech? Abstaining from lying, from divisive speech, from abusive speech, and from idle chatter: This is called right speech." (Samyutta Nikaya 45, Buddhism)

4. "Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the earth." (William Faulkner, Nobel Laureate)

All religions and most successful men of this earth emphasize on the truthfulness and honesty, so the thing is, "Honesty and truthfulness are the two-fold best policies." Never let these two, to fly away from your life ever.
