Please have a closely look
at the red circled point. What can you see? Yes, you are right. If you want to
download this superb song then you have to give away $0.49. From one of the
links of Bangladesh Bank, http://www.bb.org.bd/econdata/exchangerate, you
can evaluate the what it stands in terms of Taka. At the Dollar- BDT
(Bangladeshi Taka) exchange rate of 8th July, 2013 $1= Taka 77.7600.

According to this, only
one single song will cost you Taka 38.1024. Well, if you are a Bangladeshi, you
are well known to that in Bangladesh you will get non-pirated original CD
containing 9 to 15 songs at a cost of Taka 50 to Taka 150. That means, on
average you can buy a copyrighted song at Taka 6 to Taka 10. But, in case of
Tahsan & The Sufis, their one song will cost you Taka 38.1024, which is
approximately 6 times higher than the market rate.
So, he along with his team
in sake of providing you copyrighted downloadable song, is just engaged with
looting your money virtually.
Artists may argue that, 'I have not forced you to buy that, if do not like to buy then you can ignore it.' Yes, it can be a valid statement, but in reality it is not. Cause, a popular artist know for must that people are crazy for his or her creation, that is why using this chance he or she is actually cutting people's pocket more and more, which truly does not reflect a motive of true artist.
According to wikipedia, an artist is defined as, '...a descriptive term applied to a person who engages in an activity deemed to be an art. An artist also may be defined unofficially as "a person who expresses him- or herself through a medium". The word is also used in a qualitative sense of, a person creative in, innovative in, or adept at, an artistic practice.' (Definition of Artist)
From the above definition, we can not see that an artist is a money making machine. So, it would be better for Tahsan & The Sufis to understand the real matter and bring down the price of their latest song at the rational level, otherwise they will either trigger up sharing of pirated songs at a upper level as people would not like to buy at this 6 times higher price, or on other hand if all of the artists of Bangladesh follow them then again Bangladeshi people will leave listening Bangla songs. Surely, both will be hazardous for Bangladeshi Musical Industry.
