Why should UK investors thus investors from all over the World should invest in Sri Lanka? The answer can be attained after studying these following points first,

b.         Relatively open economy: Foreign investment is an important element in Sri Lanka’s economic growth model & is actively encouraged.

c.         Growing relations with Sri Lanka: United Kingdom trade relation & trade involvement with Sri Lanka is increasing day by day.

d.         Highly literate (over 91%) & educated labor force offers human resources with comparative skill at competitive costs.

e.         End of armed conflict offers significant business opportunities, in particular, for the rehabilitation & reconstruction of northern & eastern areas. The so called “Peace Dividend” is operational in Sri Lanka.

f.          Wide range of incentives provided by the Board of Investments (BOI) including tax holidays & import duty exemptions.

g.         One of the most liberalized economy in South Asia.



h.         Investors are provided with preferential tax rates, constitutional guarantees on investment agreements, exemptions from exchange control & 100% repatriation of profits.

Moreover, in the year 2012 comparing to 2011, industrial sector of Sri Lanka grew more than 13% in terms of added value in industry at current price (Central Bank of Sri Lanka 2013), so that it can be easily said that Sri Lanka is emerging to be a heaven for angel investors.
